August Makan Session @ Swissotel Merchant Court

We went to Swissotel Merchant this month for our monthly get together makan session. It was also a celebration for Wendy's birthday as well.

The cafe we went to was their Ellenborough Market Cafe where they serve both local and peranakan buffet. I can say the variety wasn't alot but the quality of the food was good. So if you are those who go for variety you might find that it wasn't very attractive. (like raq lo =.=)

But their desserts are damn fabulous !~ their chocolate, mango, strawberry cake, chocolate fondue with fruits and lastly their durian moose. Ooooo.... their durian moose is soo addictive and comforting that Ezam fall asleep after that ~ whahahaha.......

yummy desserts~woo hoo!~

~our poor girl falling asleep~
Did not manage to take much pictures as we are going like rounds of food with small serving.

Verdict - Fail !

I fail my FTT last Tuesday. *roll eyes ~

Can't really get over it at that point of time. But now I am feeling better. Thanks to Trina & her sweetless apple pie treat and dear's sweet encouragement to me about a person who fail his/her BTT 10 x.

Have to take FTE all overall. My attitude now is sort of heck care and lost about it. Maybe I will pick up my books again and read through, but not now. Next FTT dates is on the 14th Oct. That is like freaking long lo. @_@"

I will go ahead with my practical. Next session I am booking is for my 2 AT practice. It's been like almost half a year since i step on those brakes & acceleration pedals. Alot of people say that auto cars are easier to pick up in compare to manual, so hopefully thru these 2 session I am able to gain some confidence back for the practical.

Rantings

Sheesh~! I am so not on form to be at work today.
It's not about the "Monday Blues" feeling~ but just felt as if my mind is wondering some where to another zone. My STM is getting from bad to worst, I am practically acting and repeating things to Molly & Winnie like a grand mother! At work things are a bit messy today, bad start for a Monday. That is sooo annoying. =3=
I am counting down to tomorrow where I will be taking my FTT. Nervous or not, I am not too sure myself as for now. But after listening to my young boi "Clemen-ti's" advise, & dear's confidence in me I am more or less ready for it.
Afterall I have been practicing the booklet for the past 2 weeks! [ miss my Sakura & other anime that Wen Wen have burn into my Zen W ] Damn it !~ if i don't pass @_@" can't imagine i have to take my evaluation all over again ~ and re-book my FTT dates ....that will be C-R-A-Z-Y !!~ (scream , @$#%$%^%&^%&^#@&* )

SFATC- Rice Community Project

10th August, a day after national day. I believe that most people are in the comfort of their bed. But last week our company did a very meaningful and fulfilling community project - "The Rice Community" Project.

This project is our very first community project for the company and we will be conducting such projects once every 3 months. I can say everything is very new to us, but it wasn't very difficult to get organise for everything. Because we are keeping things simple, all donations that we gathered before the project are proceed to the purchase of the rice, thanks to NTUC online. Vic manage to get a pretty good discount for their house brand of rice. And Nafiz manage to design a pretty cool T-shirt for our future community projects~ =)

The day started off with us meeting at Blk 7 North Bridge Road. Shidah's parent's volunteered to drive us early in the morning to the location from CCK, so sweet of them. We reach there promptly, get the logistic settled and set off right on time.

Each team consist of 2-3 members and each team was dedicated 2 storey as their distribution point. I am pair up with Rasheed and I personally think that we have a good start. The residents anticipated well to our offer and along the way I felt that this IS what I called a real community work.

I use to participate in those flag raising community work when i was in my secondary school. But the motive behind all those flag raising programmes is to complete the hours for our community sessions that every student have to clock in like 10 hours/ year during our schooling days. Personally I think those are crap, cause I was too young to know what I am doing. And most importantly, no effort was even put in~.

Although I am tired but everybody was enjoying the process. Surprisingly, the whole event took us about only 1 hour and we are done. After a group photo, we proceed to Beach Road market for lunch. Miss the food there ah~ hahaha....

Mass Blogging

Finally, I am having the time to do a little blogging. I know i have not been doing so for the past don't know how many weeks le. I am on MC today. Feeling soo lousy for yesterday & today with all the sore throat, fever and body aches.... argh...

This will be a random post so I will just blog whatever that comes to my mine now. I can say it was a pretty happening week last week.

Wednesday:-

A small group of us was told in the morning that we will be brought to a surprise place in the afternoon. Everybody was puzzle and the first thought that comes to our mind is that will it be something scary again? But we were relieve when we reach Furama Hotel and know that we are going to have buffet lunch. The boss decided to treat the few of us there for some celebration. The first celebration is to congratulate Edwin and me for staying with the company for 2 years, second celebration is for Shidah and Juztin who have just pass their probation and thirdly to congratulate the company for hitting the sales target for the month of June.

Introducing the food ~

Next the people~

Thursday:-

The Code of Honour

This day the whole office is closed just for this course. 12 hours of intensive outdoor and indoor activity to let the team of us understand and obliged to this code. Each and every company will have its' own set of mission & vision but not all company will have "A code of honour". At least for the company's i work in before this is my first company that I've came across doing such a course.

The most valuable thing about this code is that it does not come out from the boss himself, it comes out from us- the staff. Other company who have the code of honour, the quote will always come from the CEO or the directors of the company. But on Thursday, we just come out with the all the 10 quotes for the honour ourselves. Yeah~

Although it is a tired day for all of us, but for me I felt a sense of achievement to have come up with all these. Well I did not take much pictures the below are what I have:-

Friday:-

My colleagues and I went for a fish spa treatment at one of the foot reflexology centre below our office last Friday. There were quite a small group of people "feeding" the fishes when we were there, so we waited for out turn patiently. We decided to go for the 30 min session, which cost us $13. I could say it could be pretty cheap for such a service. Other centres are charging like 20 mins for $10 etc.....not very attractive.

My first reaction I had when i dip my feet into the water and when the fishes attack me, it was SOOO TICKLISH ~! And because they nibble on the sole of my feet and toe nails it gives a feeling that part of my body was being "acupuncture".
These "doctor fish" or also known as Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus live and breed in the outdoor pools of some Turkish spa, where they feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis. The fish are like combfishes in that they only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow, with the outdoor location of the treatment bringing beneficial effects.

The lady in that shop was very kind, since there is no other customer in her shop, she extend the timing to a 45 mins session for us. ^^. And since there is only us around, the swam of fishes just continue to "attack" our feet and hands. After the session, I felt that my hands and feet are smoother and my some of my dead skins are really gone... Wow~
Ok time for my nap...will stop here for now.....
